Okay, a couple years ago I got an e310. It SAID it's expansion slot was also an SDIO slot. A few years later, and I decide to get an SDIO WLAN card for it. I went for the Socket one. It said it would work on any PocketPC 2002 device with an SDIO slot.. Running SDIO Now!... I assumed that this was some sort of program that would come with the card. Turns out that it's something that comes in newer pocket pc's ROM. So, needless to say, my new card does not work in my e310 (as I'm sure other people on here have experienced). My question is, is this just a software issue? If so, is there some way to get SDIO Now! on my e310? If you couldn't get it into the ROM, is there some way to use it's other memory for this (Something like an emulator, I guess)? Is there anyone out there who's had experience in this, or might know how to go about it? If such a program could be written, I know of TONS of other older-pocket-pc-users out there (I've seen them on message boards) in similar situations. Any ideas? Thoughts? Flames? Thanks,
Warner
Your problem is that SDIO NOW! and SDIO aren't the same. SDIO is a standard. The Toshiba is NOT SDIO NOW!.
Theres not a lot of hope really. Perhaps Toshibas BT SD card might work, other than that...
Right, I understand that SDIO is the standard, and SDIO Now! Is just some software that some company with a name that starts with a B made to make SDIO peripherals work with all kinds of different PDAs. My question was, is it possible to write some program that haeuemaeuemulate what SDIO Now! does? (And by emulate, I mean 'do-what-it-does', not litteraly an emulator). Any thoughs?
Thanks,
Warner
It goes beyond that. Apparently the Toshiba slots are not even SDIO, but some kind of proprietary bi-directional SD.
I suggest anyone else that has been taken in by these false claims by Toshiba to write to their Customer Relations office.

Explain that SDIO was a feature of the device that compelled you to chose it and that those claims apparently were deceptive. Details are important. Let them know in no uncertain terms that you find these deceptions to be unacceptable.
I have.
